The very first question my new customers come to me is "How much does it cost?" and "Will it really help me?". In this article I wanted to explain the price of hiring a video editor, which will hopefully help you decide whether you should hire one or not.

The Price - Can I afford a Video Editor?

Hiring a Video Editor is a part of investment in your business' visibility and professionalism. What many of my customers does not know is that sometimes it's better to invest time rather than money. Especially when your income isn't high enough to hire yourself a professional video editor.

How much does it cost?

Because every video is different and every video editor has it's own workflow and pricing - it's hard to objectively tell the price of video editing. What I can do is tell you basing on my pricing and experience.

SHORT-FORM (TikTok, IG Reels, YT Shorts, etc.)

Here prices can start from $25 - these are simple videos including dynamic editing and subtitles. Now it might sound a lot, but thinking about it - this is the bare minimum you need to break into people's "For You" Pages.
It's a great way to produce a bigger amount of videos you can post daily and expand your brands visibility.

Usually $35 is a price for a short-form video with a regular editing like you often see in apps you use. It has subtitles, sound effects that help keep the retention, music and graphics. It's great if you don't need to post often, so every video has to have a potential of going viral.

50$ and more - these are videos that require more work, usually including motion graphics, color grading or some special effects. This is an option for people who really want to invest in the visuals and storytelling - usually for business owners and bigger creators. Videos like this will very likely go viral just because they're well edited.

LONG-FORM (TikTok, IG Reels, YT Shorts, etc.)

These are harder to estimate, but I still see a pattern working here.

Prices will start from $100 for simple videos with graphics, titles, no animations. It gets more expensive when motion graphics come in, which is more often a part of modern YouTube videos.
